Welcome to eCommission Blog
January 14th, 2008 by Sean Whaling
Hi and welcome to our first Blog posting!
This is Sean Whaling, President of eCommission Financial Services, Inc. I have worked with the Company as one of its founding members since 1999. eCommission is based in Austin, TX and provides commission advances to real estate sales professionals throughout the United States.
My experience with the business dates back to the early 1990s where I originally worked with my family to help establish the first commission financing company in Canada called Agent’s Equity Inc.
Back in the day, one of our biggest concerns with running the company involved the fact that not every real estate office had a fax machine! It seems hard to imagine now. Needless to say, some old fashioned snail mail was used which really was not conducive to this type of business, where “how quickly can I get the money” is without question the service’s primary benefit. It wasn’t long before most real estate offices started using fax machines, but I still remember typing out early advance checks on a smith corona typewriter…remember white out?
To say a lot has changed over the past 15 years in the world of commission advance would be an understatement. Direct mail has given way to email, fax machines to PDF attachments, checks to electronic bank transfers and so on. And now, today officially, we start our eCommission Blog. We are excited to post information to this site, and hear feedback from customers, prospects, interested parties and everyone in between.
eCommission is unique in that we come into daily contact with real estate professionals throughout the United States. Our Blog categories therefore, will range from general real estate industry news to reviewing interesting tools we discover customers using, to commentary on cash flow and the importance of maintaining consistent income, to testimonials (feedback both positive and negative) as well as something we’ll do every Friday just for fun called, “Money talks.”
Stay tuned as we kick off the eCommission Blog. If ever you’ve wondered whether getting a real estate commission advance was something you’d be interested in, certainly this site will provide you with enough information to help make the right decision.
Thanks,
Sean
