Sales and Marketing for Real Estate Agents

Social Networking, Blogging, Forums: What is a real estate agent to do?

January 24th, 2008 by Damon

Damon CliffordThere are many different avenues that a real estate agent can market online: ActiveRain, Wanna Network, Realtor Blog, Real Estate Forum, eAgent, or even your own website and blog.

How is a real estate agent supposed to decide which of these methods will work best for them? Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to go over each of these different websites and why a real estate agent would want to use them. Each of them certainly has different features that would be more interesting to certain agents.

Since there’s only so much time in a day, it’s important to focus on the method that is going to be best for you. If you’ve already established a marketing plan for your business, it will make it much easier to stay focused.

If you’ve already had experience with any of these different websites, please let me know what you like/dislike about it in the comments below.

I have an account at ActiveRain, and it is a GREAT blogsite for real estate networking. Real Estate Professionals (not just Realtors and Agents) can gather and exchange information freely from other pros from around the country. It is really, really cool. I have learned more in the past week from ActiveRain than I have in the past 5 months as a Realtor. I highly recommend ActiveRain to anyone looking for a free forum for their real estate questions.

I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback about ActiveRain.com. It will probably be the first website that I review and give advice on how to use it as a marketing tool for your real estate business.
