Majority Want to Buy Real Estate

After a slow down of nearly two years, the real estate market is getting widespread support from consumers in a new Housing Predictor survey, which found 3 out of 4 consumers want to buy real estate in at least the next two years.

Destin, FL (PRWEB) April 8, 2008 — Following more than two years in a real estate slump, a large majority of consumers surveyed say they want to buy real estate within the next two years, according to a new Housing Predictor poll.

Three out of four respondents to the online survey said they will be in the market to buy property in the coming two years. Some even want to make their purchases sooner. Congress is working on a plan to aid some victims of foreclosure, which are already at record levels. But the proposals lack the ingredients to help more than a third of those that are facing the possibility of foreclosure. Housing Predictor forecasts foreclosures will top 5.6 million units through 2011.

    I see a lot of blame for high foreclosure rates, due to a lot of high expectations for borrowers to be honest. I mean lenders want to make a quick buck here and there, but they are in the business of doing that. However, a home owner has the responsibility of taking care of the home forever. So we expect people to take a sense of pride and do so. I’ve gone into areas with foreclosures and found the still occupied homes with the worst looking yards. Their own presence is driving down values and creating an upside down environment.

    We can point fingers, but what solution is that. How do you MAKE home owners not walk away from their responsibilities?
