Autoresponders – Keeping A Potential Client Engaged

July 22, 2009

Have you ever tried to email someone or a company and they didn’t respond to you for a couple of days? Probably by the time they did respond to you, you’ve forgotten why you even contacted them in the first place.

All the great agents will respond to every call and email before they go home for the day. That is a best practice for any rain maker in sales. If someone’s trying to contact you, it’s because they have some level of interest in what you have to offer. When you return that call or email in a prompt manner, the other person feels more important.

An advanced strategy I’ve seen some of these rain makers use is email responders for their inbox. When someone emails them, they will receive an automatic email as a reply and then the agent will follow up later in the day when they have time to make their calls or return emails.

But what exactly do these auto responded emails say? Here’s a sample I’ve seen:

Thanks for contacting me! Your message is very important and I will contact you as soon as I can.

If you are looking to buy a house, please check out our properties at www.realtorsite.com/properites-for-sale

If you are looking to sell your house, please visit www.realtorsite.com/house-for-sale and fill out the information about your house.

Thanks!

Mr Realtor

What this type of email does is keep the potential client engaged with either selling a house or buying a house until the agent can respond to the potential client.

It will also build trust with the potential client since they perceive that you are giving them more attention and trying to help them solve the real estate needs.
