The $8000 credit for new home buyers has been successful in pushing inventory off the market and boosting real estate sales. As the November 30th deadline approaches, some say that the tax credit has done it’s job while others want to see it increased and extended.

I am a realtor in Southern Utah and I have watched quite a few first time home buyers buy homes with one of there secondary reasons being the 8000 extra dollars. So to that extent I think the tax credit has been sucessful. If the government really wanted to spark buying they would remove first time home buyer and increase the credit to $10,000+
