Multiple Methods to Generate Leads

February 16, 2010

Being a successful real estate agent is all about generating leads and closing on those leads. Fortunately, there are multiple ways in which you can generate leads for your real estate business.

Networking

Networking is by far the best method of generating leads. If you want people to know who you are and what you have to offer, you have to go out there and meet and greet people. Being a real estate agent is not for the shy person. The more events you attend in your community, the more people you’re going to meet. You have to introduce yourself and build your contact list and the best way to do this is through networking.

Website

A strong website will have people calling you for your services. One of the best ways to use your website is through a blog. Blogging sets you apart as the expert in your community on real estate. When people are searching for anything related to real estate in your area, you want them to find your site. If you haven’t already, set up a website and a blog portion of your website.

Cold Calling

Cold calling is one of the most under-used, yet most successful ways of generating more leads. Don’t worry, you don’t have to close a deal during a 20 minute opening call. But what you want to accomplish is building your list, letting people know what you do, and following up with them when they’re going to be buying or selling a new home.

Purchase Lists or Leads

Buying lists or leads can work, but you have to find a reputable vendor. You will want to buy leads that give you contacts of people actively looking to buy or sell a home. You will want to make sure that you can get a good ROI on your money when you buy leads.

If you want to take your lead generation to the next level, it would be best if you used a mixture of each of these lead generation methods. That way you don’t rely on one source or method to generate your leads. The best real estate agents are able to do this and so can you.

If you purchase a list then you still have to cold call……or I guess maybe warm call – eek!

Sales prospecting for leads can be one of the hardest challenges for any real estate agent.

One of the most effective ways is to do a direct mail shot first, followed up by a cold calling program.

One works equally well with the other.
