Enthusiasm – A Realtor’s Fuel

February 17, 2010

There’s no business quite like Real Estate. If you close a big deal or string a few deals together you can make huge commissions in a short time. You are beaming with enthusiasm and you feel like you can take on the world. Unfortunately, with the great success you can have in Real Estate there can also be down times. A month when a deal you thought for certain would close, falls out of escrow and then boom your back at square one and waiting another month or two for commission check.

During the ups and downs its important to sustain your Enthusiasm! Excitement about what you do will attract people to you and create more business. Stay excited about the real estate game even when your down. If experiencing a down cycle in your business list on paper the top 5 things that you love about real estate. Think of a time when you were having a really successful month.

Here is an example:
1) I Love The Huge Commission Checks
2) I Love The Flexibility Of The Schedule
3) I Love The Fact That I Can Help Families Solve Stressful Situations
4) I Love The Complexity Of It, No Deal Is Ever The Same
5) I Love Meeting People From All Walks Of Life

It’s easy to be enthusiastic when you are focused on the positive.

Enthusiasm has a contagious effect on the people around you. Clients will be more likely to take action on decisions when you are excited about educating them. Even negative news like “Hi Mr. Smith….I think we need to reduce the list price of your home” can be turned into a positive situation if expressed like “Hi Mr. Smith….I think we can get you into that new home before summer if we reduce the list price and get this home sold.” This seems very basic but these things can be forgotten depending on your current psyche. Keep tabs on your emotions and your business will benefit.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Nothing great is ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

The goal for any real estate agent is to have a business that grows at a steady pace.

Especially when faced with a declining economy its even more important to stay enthusiastic.

Arm yourself with an optimistic mindset to weather the tough times in real estate.

Burn with Enthusiasm!
